Rustle Crow by artbikekayakgirl Rustle Crow by artbikekayakgirl
Wooden boxes, plastic doll body, polymer clay crow head, barbed wire, plastic skulls, wooden skewers, donkey tail hair, polymer clay heart, feathers, sheet music, etc....

(this piece actually hangs on a wall, and has a root from a plant coming out of the bottom....the root looks good, but doesn't photograph well because of the shadows...)

Rustle Crow by *artbikekayakgirl The suggester says: "another piece that deserves to be seen...assemblage is underrated!" Indeed, a very clever creation with a title to tweak your fancy. ( Suggested by InFeRiOr-RaVeN and Featured by LabyrinthCreations )

That comment actually made me laugh, so thanks!

The "shrines" I make are so much fun to do! But now it's summer, and there's biking and kayaking....

Spectacular! The integration of the mixed media is really well done. I wish you had posted a pic of this hung even though the root doesn't photograph so well. It is an engaging piece for me because I keep expecting the skulls to move up and down on their skewers in time to the music on the sheet. Meanwhile the Crow conducts from his all seeing perch.

Ha! You have quite the imagination....skulls moving up and down in time to the music on the sheet. What a thought! Actually, I would love to have moving parts in my work.....but until I figure out how to do that, I'll settle for having lights in some of my pieces.

Thank you for your great comment!!!

this looks like something one would find from a vendor in a mexican art festival, or near a grave on the "dia do los muertos".
gorgeous work, and a DD well deserved.
